For more than 60 years, the Camp Nou has been a unique stadium in terms of design and capacity, but it is an architectural jewel that has struggled to stand the test of time and currently features several shortcomings. 40% of the site has not been redeveloped since it was built (1957).
- Inadequate facilities for members.
- Difficult access to the third tier.
- Only one elevator per 8,300 spectators.
- Only 48 seats for people with reduced mobility and none adapted for visual, hearing or cognitive disabilities.
- 10% of seats do not offer a perfect view of the pitch.
- When it rains, more than 60% of spectators get wet.
- For Champions League matches, more than 4,000 members must be relocated.
- Members located near to the away fans experience disturbances
- There is no restaurant with pitch views.
- Surface parking causes dangerous conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles.
- Technologically obsolete.
- Site perimeter closed to the neighbourhood.
- Lack of quality spaces and hospitality services for FIFA and UEFA competitions.
- Not enough media positions to meet the demand.
- Insufficient number of bars selling hot food in relation to the number of spectators, and very few of them have extractor fans.
