FC Barcelona complete the tender process for the project management of Spotify Camp Nou

The Board of Directors express their gratitude to the members affected by the initial construction work for their understanding and help

The Board of Directors has been informed of the progress of the work to demolish part of their third tier of the Gol Sur at Spotify Camp which began on 1 September with preliminary work and the removal of the Gol Sur video scoreboard amongst other activities. The work takes advantage of the hiatus in competition due to this year's World Cup in November and December.

The Board of Directors express their gratitude to the members affected by the initial construction work for their understanding and help. The great majority will be relocated in similar seats, or even better ones; a small minority have chosen the option of suspending their season ticket.

Elsewhere, the Advanced Basic Project for the refurbishment of Spotify Camp Nou, with the Japanese company Nikken Sekkei overseeing together with IDOM and b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos, is now considered complete, with their contract ending on 15 August of this year. As such, no contract has been terminated as has been suggested in certain media, the contract has simply come to an end.

With the Basic Project complete, and whilst the construction project is out to tender, the process of tender for management of the project has been completed. In today's meeting the Board of Directors has approved that this task fall to the Catalan companies Enginyeria i Arquitectura Torrella and Ingenieros JG. This UTE will oversee the construction phase of the new stadium assuming the design of IDOM and b720.

At the same time, the Club is working on an agreement for Nikken Sekkei, winner of the design competition in 2016,  to remain linked to the project as Design Guardian for the Spotify Camp Nou project, supporting the tender process for the work, the putting together of the Execution Project and the management of the work.

As part of a meeting with the president Joan Laporta which took place a few days ago, the College of Catalonia (COAC), via its Dean, Guim Costa i Calsamiglia, has been informed of the tender process as well as other aspects related to the development of Espai Barça.

In the coming months the process of tender for the execuitve management of the project (building engineer), management of health and safety (work risks) and quality control will begin.
