Project a key inclusion at the ESSMA conference, with stadium sector representatives learning about the current status of the Spotify Camp Nou and some of the main architectural details

The Espai Barça project was on show at the ESSMA (European Stadium & Safety Management Association) conference taking place yesterday and today at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam. The international event featured FC Barcelona, with Espai Barça's Technical Area manager, Raul Alvarez, presenting the project's more technical aspects during his "Transforming our Club and our city" speech. He outlined the current status of the works and some of the main architectural details that will make the project a benchmark in the sector.

Álvarez introduced Espai Barça's unique features and the major transformation that will take place in FC Barcelona's installations in the Les Corts neighbourhood. Let's not forget that the key aspects considered when developing the project's design were to improve the stadium's integration within the neighbourhood and city, along with promoting more sustainable, socially responsible mobility, plus including measures that help with environmental protection.

One of the most significant projects in the world of sport and entertainment, the Club wants to use Espai Barça to update its home and facilities to create new settings, spaces, and assets, and generate additional income. During his presentation, Espai Barça's Technical Area manager showed attendees and sector experts some of the renders of the future Spotify Camp Nou and the different new spaces. Furthermore, he provided details on the design of the future stadium and the architectural approach for sections such as the two new VIP rings, which will be located between the second and third tiers, plus the Barça Hub entry point, or the GAP - the space between the current stand and the new stadium's façade - so the iconic 1957 façade remains visible.

A benchmark conference for the stadiums sector

The ESSMA conference is a leader in a sector that brings together members from many leagues and federations across the stadiums industry. As part of the event, organised this time in the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam, sector-related topics and the main current projects were discussed, such as Espai Barça. The attendees therefore obtained first-hand information on how the work on the future stadium is progressing at a good rate, with the new third tier already being built, plus the most emblematic aspects of the project's design.
