Espai Barça is a project for the members. It is every Barça fan’s dream, one that will become a reality and a legacy to be enjoyed by future generations.
Espai Barça is an equity project involving an investment of 600 million Euros, and approved by the members, the legitimate owners of the Club.
On 5 April 2014 a referendum was held for all Club members. The project was approved with more than 72% of votes in favour. It was the second referendum in the Club’s history, after one that in 1950, under the presidency of Agustí Montal i Galobart, for the purchase of land for the construction of the current Camp Nou.
A fun and festive day
The Referendum took place on the esplanade of the Auditorium 1899, located in the front of the Camp Nou. The members were able to exercise the right to vote from 9 in the morning until 9 at night. The voting space consisted of five tents that occupied 3,000 m2 and contained 180 tables, arranged in alphabetical order according to the members' last names.
Throughout the day, members were able to enjoy the recreational activities put in place by the club, such as musical performances, chocolate, workshops and games for the little ones, or a visit to the changing rooms, the old Masia, the Museum and the Ice Rink.
